After having her first child, Alex quickly realized the lack of postpartum care in this country is overwhelming. Pushing for two hours and having a third degree tear and hearing "You are all clear for activity," just did not feel right.

Fortunately, Alex had worked with Caroline Keeler, a pelvic floor physical therapist, while pregnant and knew she needed to make an appointment as soon as possible. Caroline informed Alex she had immense scar tissue and need to rehab. Alex could not figure out why doctors were not telling women about such a valuable resources postpartum.

After baby number two, the transition was so hard, and new motherhood can be so lonely, she knew she had to create a safe space for women to find community and feel cared for. In November of 2021, Mom Club Inc was born. After a year of explosive growth in New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick counties, she knew she was on to something.

In November of 2022, Mom Club, Inc rebranded to 4th Trimester Mission and Alex and the Board are excited to continue to grow support and resources for women in the early days after childbirth.
